Mr. Simundic holds a bachelor’s degree in geology and has over 35 years of experience in the environmental field, including 25 years as vice president of SCP Environment Inc. He has worked on several large-scale projects, including hydrogeological studies for landfill sites and site remediation, including tank removal and in situ treatment using mobile units (pumping, ventilation). He has also carried out bioremediation projects, impact studies, and numerous initial and detailed site characterization projects (phases II and III), several of which involved significant spills. He has also contributed to a number of legal expert reports on contaminated sites and landfills.

Engineer, EP(CEA, EMSLA), Vice-President

Christian de Serres, engineer, EP (CEA, EMSLA), is a project manager with over 35 years of experience in the environmental field. A chemical engineer by training, he is an expert in environmental, health, and safety management systems, particularly in the areas of environmental compliance audits (ECAs), implementation and auditing of environmental, health, and safety management systems, Phase I environmental site assessments, environmental training, institutional strengthening, sustainable development, and corporate social responsibility. He is a Certified Environmental Auditor (CEA) and Lead Auditor for Environmental Management Systems (EMSLA), and has conducted hundreds of internal and certification audits related to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and R2 standards.

As Vice President of the SCP Group, Mr. de Serres is responsible for office and employee management, health and safety, the project management system, and the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.

Specialized Environmental Consultant

Redouane Afrit is an environmental consultant specializing in the management of hazardous materials and regulated substances in buildings and soil, including asbestos, lead, mold, and silica. He holds a university degree in applied sciences and a professional master’s degree in industrial and administrative engineering.
He works on institutional, municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential projects, covering the characterization, planning, supervision, and control phases of the work. His mandates include characterizing materials that may contain asbestos or lead paint, assessing mold, drafting technical reports and decontamination estimates, and monitoring and supervising construction sites.

Recognized as a counter by the IRSST as part of the asbestos fiber counting quality control program, he collects and analyzes air samples using phase contrast optical microscopy, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements in Quebec.
His expertise covers the entire environmental-building-demolition-rehabilitation chain, including Phase II environmental site assessments, interpretation of analytical results, and planning of environmental rehabilitation work.

Paul-Olivier
Paquet

Engineer, M.Eng

Paul-Olivier Paquet, engineer, M.Eng., is the CEO of SCP Geotek Inc. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering (specializing in geotechnical engineering). His master’s thesis focused on assessing soil liquefaction potential using a piezocone. Mr. Paquet has extensive experience in geotechnical services and materials quality control, particularly in foundation design, bearing capacity calculations, slope stabilization for excavation work, calculation of French drain flow rates, supervision of concrete work, compaction and excavation, and the design of rock anchoring systems and engineering structures.

Throughout his career, Mr. Paquet has worked on major residential, commercial, municipal, institutional, and industrial projects. As project manager for numerous mandates, he has acquired a wide range of skills and a great sense of autonomy, enabling him to tackle projects of any size, from design to construction. His advanced technical knowledge, attention to detail, energy, and organizational skills have enabled him to successfully complete his mandates efficiently, in compliance with standards, budgets, and deadlines.
